Margaret Peg Isola

Margaret Helen (Hoffman) Isola, 82, of Toledo, Ohio formally of Calumet, MI was taken home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. She was born in Chassell, MI to Mathias and Dorothy (Mehrens) Hoffman on June 28, 1928. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Calumet, MI. It is there where she met the love of her life, Werner Isola. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet, MI.It was in May of 2010 that she moved to Toledo, OH to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, building puzzles, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and taking long rides along Lake Superiors coastline where she enjoyed many sunsets. She spent her life devoted to her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker.She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brothers and sisters, her devoted and adoring husband of 37 years, Werner and loving daughter, Margaret Ann. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter, John (Kathy) Isola of Waterville, OH; Patti (David) Unger of Maumee, OH; son in law Ron Torsella of Fond-du-lac, WI. 12 adoring grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren one of whom was born on January 1, 2011. She was also lovingly nicknamed GG. She is also survived by a brother, John Hoffman of Lake Linden, MI and a sister Mary (Robert) Eaton of South Milwaukee, WI. Many sisters-in-law a brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews also great nieces and nephews and friends.Patti and John would like to say thank you for the loving care shown to their beloved mother while at St. Lukes.A special thank you to her friends at Keygate Manor, although only there for a short time, you made her feel welcome and at home.Peg will be dearly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.There will be a celebration of her life in her beloved Copper Country at Sacred Heart Church in Calumet, MI.
