Marcella H. Szenderski

Marcella "Marcie" Szenderski passed away while under the compassionate care of Kind Hearts Hospice and the Franciscan Care Center at the age of 102 years old.

On August 12, 1920, Marcie was born in Chicago to Lucy (Jaroszewska) and John Wlodarczyk.

Marcie graduated in 1939 from Woodward High School in Toledo and married Thomas Walter Szenderski in 1940. They raised their five children on Elm and Austin Streets near Lagrange St. and Central Ave. in the Polish village area of Toledo where they attended St. Hedwig Church.

Marcie worked in the business offices for Red & White Market, Tillotson and almost 20 years at St. Vincent Medical Center. After 52 years of marriage, she moved to Oregon, Ohio where she was closer to Maumee Bay State Park and where she created many years of happy memories.

Marcie took every opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. Her lifelong passions were family, ballroom dancing, teaching line dancing and eating dark chocolate.

Marcie is survived by five children, Tim (Geri) Szenderski, Gerry Haar, Terry (Chris) Szenderski, Kathleen (John) Rako, and Shaun (Laurie) Szenderski. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Andrew, Jeffery, Gregory, Neil, John, Steven, and Jennifer. Marcie is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. In addition, her brother, John (Connie) Wlodarczyk and nieces, Audry and Lisa are left to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, and her grandson, Matthew Haar.

There will be no viewing, but a Mass at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oregon, Ohio will be announced at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the charity of your choice.
