Mady B. Karns

Our mother, Mady B. Karns, (nee Schermer) passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio on April 26, 2021 at the age of 95. Born in Landshut, Germany, she came to this country as a child. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth, her husband, Harry and her sister Katherine. She is survived by her three children, Mark (Johanna), Janet Beeley and Erick, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She graduated from Whitmer High School, attended the University of Toledo and worked in both real estate and as an adult probation officer for the City of Toledo. Mom had many interests, including her love of bridge where she achieved the level of Life Master. She loved playing tennis and her daily walks at Wildwood Park. Mom's love of animals was most important to her and she supported many animal organizations throughout her life. We will have a small memorial gathering this summer, but if you would like to make a donation in her honor, please consider the Toledo Humane Society.
