Madonna Stone (Meyers), 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, at Toledo Hospital, surrounded by several loving family members. Born on November 14, 1939, in Toledo to Margaret and Aloysius Meyers, Madonna grew up in the historic Old West End and attended Central Catholic High School. She raised 3 children who miss and love her very much. Madonna was close to her 4 siblings, and the many nieces and nephews who included her in their lives, "Aunt Madonna was a hoot!".
She spent many dedicated years working at the Lion Store, which later became Dillard's, where she formed lasting bonds with her "work family" and continued reunions with colleagues well into her later years. Madonna's fierce independence and strong work ethic shone through in her proud ownership of her own home, taking great joy in maintaining it personally-mowing the lawn, trimming the edges, cutting out poison oak to her detriment, snow-blowing the driveway until age 80. Insisting on washing the windows each spring because "no one will do it like I do." She was a true handywoman long before online tutorials existed, tackling repairs with confidence, including repairing her clothes dryer in her late 70s, and so much more. These skills and her determination live on in her children.
Madonna's radiant smile, adventurous spirit, tireless work ethic, and occasionally spicy and salty personality will not be forgotten. She is survived by her children, Carrie Hobson (Brad), Rick Stone (Katy), and Kristie Wade (Dustin); grandchildren, Halee, Kenzee Madonna, Amelia, Maggie, and Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Emerson, Evan, Morgan, and Scottee.
A festive celebration of life to honor Madonna will be held at a later date, with arrangements to be announced. Margaritas included as per her request.
