Madeline Rice

Madeline “Lynne” (Wilber) Rice, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, May 31, 2024, at Genoa Care Center surrounded by her daughters. She was born April 23, 1943, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Helen (Toman) and Robert Wilber.

Lynne was a great mother and grandmother. She was little, but mighty. She was the strength of her family, raising her children mostly on her own.

Lynne was a lifelong advocate for individuals with disabilities, working as a Service Coordinator for the Ottawa County Board of MRDD, retiring in 2003.

After retirement, Lynne traveled so much that her daughters referred to her as a "Gypsy." She lived the best life possible, helping so many along the way. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving Lynne are her daughters, Andrea Keck ( Brad Goetz) of Oak Harbor, Shannon Chambers of Port Clinton; brother, Larry Wilber of Milan, Michigan; grandchildren, Kodey Keck, Jeffrey Chambers, Brody Goetz and Brittany Chowdhary; great-grandchildren, Jase Chambers, Francesca Keck, and Porter Suman; special friends, Garnett (Gay) Wine and Linda Kodak.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Dykes; special traveling buddy, Karen (Quillin) Wells; and her beloved fur-baby, Bailey Omar.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
