Lynda Lee (Rogers) Mobley passed away while under the care of Hospice of NW Ohio and Foundation Park in Toledo, Ohio on March 15, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio on November 13, 1939. Her parents were Leon J. Rogers and Marguerite L. (Talbot) Rogers. Lynda and her husband, Jim Mobley (deceased) had lived in Republic Ohio for over 44 years and were married for 65 years.

Lynda graduated in 1957 from Central High School in Akron, Ohio where she was a majorette.

Lynda enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting and swimming. She loved vacationing with her girlfriends. Lynda volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for over 12 years. She was a staunch Democrat, volunteering for many years at the voting polls, making phone calls and knocking on doors for many democratic candidates.

She worked at Bellevue City Schools in Bellevue, Ohio in many different positions over the years. She was a bus driver for over 28 years. She also worked as a classroom aid and office assistant. The last 6 years she was a bus driver and bus driver coordinator. After retiring from Bellevue, she worked for almost ten years for the Laborers Local 480 as an office secretary.

She was a critical component in organizing many School Districts, and Head Starts support staff in Northwest Ohio for the Ohio Association of Public-School Employees (OAPSE) union. She signed her first OAPSE union membership card in 1983. While a member of OAPSE she was elected as the Union President Local 612 at Bellevue City Schools, she was then elected as the North Central District President, for the last 12 years as an OAPSE member, she was elected as the Vice President of OAPSE for the entire state of Ohio.

She had a very loving and special relationship with her grandson, Robert (Bobby) Bowser. The two of them spent many hours sharing special times together talking, laughing, and going to the movie theater. In fact, Lynda's very last vacation was spent visiting Bobby in Oklahoma while he was earning his PhD.

She is survived by 4 children, Kevin Mobley, Kristi (Bill) Bowser, Kelly (Moira Kalakoda) Mobley, Karin (Dr. Chris) Mobley Sears; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her four best girlfriends, Louise Freeman, Mary Beth Thompson, Pam Dolence, Norma Schlosser and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; her two siblings; her grandson, Jeremy Snyder; and her granddaughter, Shannon Nikki Mobley.

Her family wants to thank all of the friends and family who helped take care of her during her battle with dementia. A big thank you to the wonderful staff at Foundation Park and Hospice of NW Ohio.
