Lue Doris Green

Lue Doris Green, 93, passed away, on June 8, 2024. She was born in Ofahoma, Mississippi on February 18th, 1931 to Willie and Louella Smith.

She loved to garden, raising beautiful flowers, house plants, and vegetables, especially collard greens. Many times the vegetables in her garden were so plentiful that she would invite others over to harvest as many vegetables as they could carry! She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and embroidery. Quite often she would donate her sewing creations to local charities, donate as fundraiser auction items and bestow as gifts.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1956 in Michigan and remained a dedicated Witness for nearly 70 years and attended the Swanton, Park, and Maumee congregations. She enjoyed the door-to-door ministry and served as an Auxillary Pioneer on several occasions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Luealla Smith; husband, Pearlie Green; children, Willie, Linda, and Lynn; brothers, Maxell Smith, Edward Smith and Murphy Smith; and sisters, Mary Carson nee Smith and Frances Matlock nee Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory children, Ella Jefferis nee Green, Vanessa Hornsby nee Green, Karen Green, Lisa Green,

Wayne (Sandra) Green, Rolanda (Christopher) Green-Labiche; brother, John Smith; along with 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family of Lue Doris Green wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many comforting messages and other expressions of kindness. Special thanks to the administration staff, nurses, and aides at Arbors at Sylvania Care Center.

A memorial service for Lue will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 740 N. McCord Road, Toledo, OH 43615 on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
