Lowell D. Sickler passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at home. He was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland on December 12, 1938 to the late John and Hazel (Gibson) Sickler. He later married Lorraine Beeley who still survives in Lambertville, Michigan.Mr. Sickler was a U.S. Marine Corp. and U.S. Marine Corp. reserves veteran. He spent 30 years with Dana Corporation as a Safety Director and after retirement began work with the Toledo Metro Parks where he stayed for the last 13 years. He was a champion power lifter with the Glass City Power Lifters. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing softball for many years. He is survived by his children, Bradley (Jodi) Sickler and Kirk (Stephanie) Sickler both of Bowling Green, Ohio; step children, Trent Enright and Andrea Enright both of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Sean, Joseph, Jenna, and Kyle Sickler, Brandon and Kara Enright, and Derek Kasper. Also surviving are brothers, Robert Sickler of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Richard Phillips of Las Vegas, Nevada, Andrew Sickler, Ronald Sickler both of Burtonsville, Maryland; and a sister, Joan Sickler of Burtonsville, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Kenny Phillips. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Marks Lutheran Church on Woodville Rd. The family has entrusted Mr. Sicklers care to the Cremation Society of Toledo. Online condolences may be made below.
