Loretta Ryan

Early on the morning of January 9, 2021, Loretta went the be with her heavenly Father. The child of Dominic Jozefowicz and Clara Malecki, she was delivered on June 13, 1935 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo, OH where she remained a lifelong resident. She attended St. Stanislaus school (class of 49') and went to Harriet Whitney High School. Throughout the years, she held jobs at Olin Mills photography studio, Rose Exterminator and finally, Keystone Foods until her retirement. Some of her favorite pastimes involved going dancing with her girlfriends at church festivals and clubs, playing Bingo, traveling and trips to Casinos with her late husband, James, and favorite aunts. She loved the traditional Polish food she grew up on and the excellent cookies and cakes her husband, James, so skillfully prepared. Her greatest passion was doting over her son, Daniel Hubbs II and grandson, Daniel Hubbs III whom she adored. Loretta grew up in the Polish neighborhood of Lagrange St. and spent her early years on Campbell St. where she was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. She was a devout parishioner of Little Flower until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Clara; step-father, Wilton “Willy” Gaudin; husband, James L. Ryan; grandson, Daniel B. Hubbs III; brother, Raymond Gaudin; nephew, Scott Gaudin; and paternal aunt, Rose Bicard. She is survived by son, Daniel B. (Jennifer Wagner) Hubbs II; siblings, Richard Gaudin and Sue (Raymond) Gaudin; nephew, Tom Gaudin; grandnieces, Meriah and A1C Chyanne Gaudin; and special aunts, Joan Forsythe, Peggy Maluchnik (maternal) and Theresa Ingraham (paternal). A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 23 at Little Flower Parish, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo, OH 43615. It will be live streamed at www.littleflowertoledo.org.
