Lorenz Bus Schenck

Lorenz Bus Schenck of Point Place passed away in his sleep on July 27, 2009 after a six month battle with the later stages of Alzheimers.He was born in Toledo, Decemeber 31, 1924 to Edward and Goldie (France) Schenck.He worked at the Pure Oil Refinery as a stationary engineer for twenty seven years and then JL Hudson for ten years.Bus was a life member of the River View Yacht Club. You could find him there often, playing cards or pool. Bus was also an avid fisherman, first in the inland lakes of Michigan and Wisconsin and later on his beloved Lake Erie.Surviving are his wife, Jane of 64 years; his son, Larry Schenck; daughter, Luanne Swigart; three grandsons, Karle Stange, David Laytart, and Joe Laytart; and three great grandsons, Connor, Caleb, and Landon Laytart.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Stange, parents, brother Don, and sisters Dorothy and Jean.There will be no visitation and services will be private.The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Heartland of Waterville for making his final days as comfortable as possible.The Cremation Society of Toledo is handling arrangements.
