Lois Mae (Young) Strang Our mother was ninety-three years young when she passed away peacefully on June 25th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her parents were Hulda Jane (Marshall) Young and Edward Charles Young. Lois was born on June 17th, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio. She later met and married Kenneth William Strang after she graduated from Waite High School and he was discharged from the Navy after World War II. They made it to their 50th wedding anniversary. Lois was beloved by many friends, neighbors, and family members. She was active with her church, a local birthday club, bible study, roller skating, and Tai Chi. She loved listening to mystery novels and traveling, having visited nearly every state and having many travel adventures. She has three surviving children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, including one born on her birthday. She chose to be cremated by the Cremation Society and not have a service. Her ashes will be scattered by her family. She will have a gravestone at Willow Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio next to her beloved husband Kenneth. Lois's mother, Hulda, had early onset arthritis and she taught her daughter by example to do as much for herself as she could and then ask for help. That value helped Lois survive childhood polio and the loss of Ken in 1998. Lois always pushed her children and grandchildren: "To be independent!". Lois supported many charitable organizations during her lifetime and believed that everyone can contribute to making the world a better place. Please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her honor.
