Linda Ann Stagner-Cherry, age 70, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Linda was born in Toledo, Ohio to Herbert and Joann Stagner. Linda was blessed to marry her soul mate, Michael Cherry, on July 29, 2014 with all of her children and family in attendance, making it one of the happiest days of her life. Linda spent her life as a homemaker and super Mom. There was never an obstacle she couldn’t overcome for her children and she passed that strength and inspiration to the people she loved. When Linda was enjoying her free time, you could find her in her garden, enjoying music, collecting frogs, or just somewhere in nature feeding her wildflower soul. Linda loved to travel and visit her family in Layfette, Kentucky. It was there she and her brother would tease each other endlessly or spend hours chatting with her sister. Her favorite destinations was Georgia and Colorado. Linda was a hockey super fan and had some of the best times in her life with her prodigal son and daughter from her heart. She also shared a love for NASCAR, Ohio State football with her kids and Georgia Bulldogs with her Georgia family. One of her favorite things was when her sister would spoil her with boiled custard or when she would go to her other sisters for pool parties. Although Linda’s education was limited she was book smart and street wise. She instilled those values in her children and made many great sacrifices to see that they received the best education possible. It was the legacy she wished to leave behind that her children would be educated and unwavering parents. She accomplished that and so much more. Everybody that knew and loved her can share stories of inspiration, loyalty, blunt honesty and the deep impact she made on their lives. Linda has an amazing sense of humor and a way about her that made her everyone’s best friend. She brought the light to every adventure and will always be remember for the love she had for her life and the fun she brought to ours. Linda gave her life to God, loved her faith and church Cedar creek. In her younger years she was a Sunday school teacher and in recent years her favorite service was Christmas eve and singing along to Silent Night. As extraordinary mother that Linda was, she was an even better grandma. She was fierce in her loyalty, never missing a special day with any of them. All of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a special bond with her and she was their safe place. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Michael Cherry; children, James, Michael (Sara), Brian and Lorie Jo; grandchildren, Amber, Michael (Vanessa), Jonathon (Kymber), Paxton, Sierra, Jewel, Brian, James, Meranda, Anna, Justin, Brayden; step-children Jovan, Autumn and Reena; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Brenda, Sandy (Manuel), Joe (Wanda), Tammy (Johnny), Kathleen (Tom), as well as, many nieces, nephews, loving friends and her beloved, Gizmo. Preceded in her death were her parents; husbands, J.R. and Steve; best friend, Jackie; grandsons, Jason “the boy” and Will; daughter-in-law, Christie and her beloved Spike. Linda’s last wish was that we celebrate her life and legacy so please join us Sunday, November 29th, 2020 at Blanchard-Strabler from 1 to 4 with a Memorial Service at 3. Flowers and donations can be sent to Blanchard. Thank you to all who have been an amazing part of Linda’s life and legacy. “When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.”
