Linda C. Kinker

Linda Cheryl (Hass) Kinker, age 77, of Holland, OH passed away at home November 3, 2024, from complications of ALS. She was born on August 1, 1947, in San Francisco, CA to Byron Barney and Mildred Elouise (Morgan) Hass. Linda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She cherished the time spent with family and friends, and especially adored her ten precious grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling on many cruises, reading, walking, yoga, baking favorite desserts, and playing games.

Linda grew up in Saudi Arabia as her father worked for the Aramco Oil Company. She graduated from Start High School in 1965 and the University of Toledo in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She worked for Lucas County as a juvenile probation counselor until she started her own family. Raising a family was always her dream and it came naturally. Later she worked and subbed for West Side Montessori Center where she embraced the philosophy and loved working with the young students.

Linda met her husband Harold in 1965 at the University of Toledo and they were married in March 1969. Her greatest pleasure was raising their six children, and later loving her ten grandchildren. She loved them all unconditionally and made each one feel safe, loved and cherished.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harold of 55 years; brother, David Tim Hass of Toledo, OH; their children, Steve (Luzia) Kinker of Switzerland, Kurt (Laura) Kinker of Saugatuck, MI, Gary Kinker of Toledo, OH, Brent (Hollie) Kinker of McCordsville, IN, Melanie (Jason) Pitzen of Delaware, OH, Rebecca (David) Jones of Maumee, OH; grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Kyle, Jocelyn Kinker, Alex, Maxton, and Elyse Pitzen, Julia Kinker and Madeline & Emma Jones; and sisters-in-law, Karleen Kinker and Mary (Mark) Main. She cared and loved every person who came into her life. To be loved by her was a blessing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the lodge in Strawberry Acres Park, 950 S. McCord Road, Holland OH 43528. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m.
