Linda Marie Bonawitt (Okuley) passed away in her home on October 21, 2017 after a year-long battle with Peritoneal Mesothelioma. Linda was born in Toledo on September 8, 1953 to Donald and Mary Louise Okuley. She was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses on May 10, 1975 and was a joyful graduate of the Pioneer School for kingdom Preachers in 1984. She married Richard L. Bonawitt in 1977 and enjoyed a life of faith and service within the community as members of the Stickney Congregation. Linda was a talented artist, a member of the Toledo Potters Guild, winning many awards including Best of Show in the Salon des Refusés Exhibition. The paintings, handmade jewelry, calligraphy and murals remind us of her boundless creativity and consistent joy for life. She cherished friends and family dearly and remained committed to being a loyal friend herself. Linda is survived by her son, Glen; stepchildren, Cynthia, Rebecca, Daniel, Lori, Richard, and Kimberly; as well as her mother, Mary Louise Okuley; brothers, Thomas, Robert, Richard, Patrick, and Steven; sisters, Karen and Connie, as well as a treasure-trove of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; father, Donald; brothers, Michael and Charles; and sisters, Teresa and Judith. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 139 Richards Road in Toledo. A reception will follow at the familys home.
