Leroy Hardy, Jr.

Leroy Hardy Jr., age 68, of Toledo, Ohio, peacefully entered eternal rest on August 28, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio.

Leroy was a loving and caring soul whose presence brought laughter, strength, and joy to those around him. Although he did not have children of his own, he embraced the role of father figure to many and devoted his love and care to his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister, Deborah Nelson; his nephews, Victor Nelson Sr., Patrick Nelson Jr., Marcus Nelson, and Terrance Livingston Jr., along with his great-nieces, Jazzman Watkins and Shaqunda Nelson; great-nephew, Victor Nelson Jr.; great-great-niece, Nevaeh Loveless; and a host of other family members and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Amie Ward; mother, Otivia Livingston; father, Leroy Hardy Sr.; sister, Joyce-Ann Hightower; and brother-in-law, Patrick Nelson Sr.

Leroy proudly served five years in the United States Army. He was a hardworking and talented man who could do just about anything. He worked as a mechanic, painter, and handyman, and he enjoyed working on houses.

To his family and friends, Leroy was known by many names. Some called him "Mr. Fix It," because there was rarely a problem he could not find a way to solve. Others affectionately knew him as "Bald Head" or "Sonny Boy." No matter what name you called him, it was always said with love. Leroy was also a great cook, and the meals he prepared were another meaningful way he showed his love for those around him.

Those who knew Leroy will remember his funny personality, willingness to help others, many talents, and, most of all, his beautiful heart. He was the kind of person who could make you laugh, lend a helping hand, and make you feel loved all at the same time. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories and love he shared will remain forever.
