Lenore Linn

May 2, 1945 — October 8, 2024

Laurie Linn, born Lenore Sanford May 2, 1945, passed away at her home October 8th 2024 at the age of 79

after a 2-1/2 year battle with lung cancer. She left this earth with daughters Cheri Jones and Jami Linn, along with

husband Jim at her bedside. For the past 8-1/2 months Laurie was cared for graciously by nurses and aids of Promedica’s

Heartland Home Hospice, as well as nurses aids of Comfort Keepers. Their on-going attention, care and respect to her

comfort needs was ever present and she appreciated all their efforts on her behalf.

Laurie attended Notre Dame Academy as a child and after finishing school, worked in many food service

organizations. Later, her career took her to the former Ohio Bell, now Ameritech, as a sales rep. She excelled as a top

salesperson earning several awards in the state of Ohio. After Ameritech moved out of the area Laurie closed her working

career with Hallmark in Sylvania, a job she really enjoyed, especially the customers and her co-workers. Laurie was preceded in death by her father Howard Sanford and mother, Dorothy (Schwager) Sanford Rudd. Also preceding her death

were brothers Patrick and Michael Sanford and sister Cynthia Sanford Portman. Surviving her are brother Stephen Sanford

and sister Marge Sanford Hancock.

Throughout her marriage of 37 years to Jim Linn, her loving and devoted husband, friend and champion

caregiver, nothing was more important to her than her family she would say. She leaves many children, grandchildren,

and great grandchildren from her loving blended family. Never ‘step’ children, just all their children, she would say.

Her surviving children include daughter Cheri Hartford Jones (Odell) of Milan, MI, Keith Hartford (Point Place,

OH) and Kevin (Heather) Hartford of Sylvania, OH from her first marriage. Surviving from her second marriage to Jim are

her bonus-children, Nancy (Mike) Corbin of Spartanburg, SC, Dennis (Linda) Linn of Maumee, OH and Jami Linn (Steve

Ringenberg) of Durham, NC.

“Grammy” happily welcomed 17 grandchildren Tenley, Tatum and Trevor from Kevin (Heather), Brandyn (Victoria)

Jones, Lauren (Chris) Fairchild, Bryan (Morgan) Jones, Brianne Jones and finally Remy Hartford. With her second family,

she welcomed Mordecai, Nathan (Kim) and Max (Siryi) Corbin, Michael (Olga) Linn, Matthew (Lauren) Linn, Tara Linn

(Tony) Weis, and Joshua (Mahe) Mitchell, Patrick (Cody) Lallier and BethAnne (Nash) Seawell.

From there, her family grew and grew to include 20 great-grandchildren too! “Gigi” went on to welcome Ellie &

Bryce from Brandyn (Victoria), Henry from Lauren (Chris), Bruce & Maryanne from Bryan (Morgan), Cabo, Lele & Nancy

from Max (Siryi), Braidon & Penelope from Matt (Lauren), Malachi & Maddison from Mike (Olga) and Kenlee & Lucas from

Tara (Tony). Then finally, Bennett, Everett & Griffin from BethAnne (Nash), Harrison & Margaret Linn from Patrick (Cody) and

Mikaela from Josh (Mahe).

We are certain Laurie would welcome and cherish more hugs and kisses from each one - or, more. As she is now

safe and free of pain, in the blessed arms of our Lord and Father, it would be an added blessing.

A memorial service, a Celebration of Life, is planned; but no decision about where and when it’s to be held has been

determined. Family and friends, please look for an updated notice in the near future.
