Leila G. Kass

Leila (Haden) Gloria Kass, age 73, passed away at her residence on June 7, 2023.

Leila was born on August 30, 1949 in Toledo, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Fern Haden. She attended the University of Toledo and received a Bachelor of Science and Nursing degree. After graduation, she worked at the Toledo Hospital as a surgical nurse and prior to retirement, was a nurse at the Rosary Care Center in Sylvania.

In her free time, Leila loved gardening, writing poetry, and even sang in the Handel’s Messiah for a few years. She enjoyed watching tennis, Seinfeld and WGTE. She was an avid swimmer. Leila cherished her grandchildren, speaking or seeing them almost daily. She always made sure her family was doing well, even when her health was at its worst.

Leila is survived by her daughter, Elana (Brett) Kohlman; grandchildren, Hannah Cluckey, Benjamin Kemper, and Colin Kemper; and siblings, Linda Kreuger and Larry Haden. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nina Kass.

A Celebration of Leila’s Life will be held at the home of Elana and Brett Kohlman, 4355 Sulgrave Drive, Toledo, Ohio 43615 on Saturday, June 17th, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. A light lunch and beverages will be served; casual attire is welcomed.
