Larry C. Fink

Larry C. Fink, age 86, passed away on September 1, 2024, at Flower Hospital. Larry was born on March 2, 1938, in Ottawa Lake, MI, the son of the late Arno and Ruth (Sampson) Fink. He grew up on a farm and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of living the “simple life”. This exposure helped develop his lifelong love for anything John Deere, which included a large collection within the home of any item you could imagine.

On September 1, 1983, Larry married the love of his life, Debra Gott. Together they shared 41 wonderful years that included one of his favorite past times: taking day trips to explore local restaurants and taste the foods specific to that area.

His upbringing provided versatile skill sets when it came to his career. For many years he followed in the footsteps of his family as a farmer. He also assisted in ground crew maintenance and grave digging at Toledo Memorial Park. Eventually, he concluded his career at Coventry Furniture where Larry excelled in carpentry and delivery of his handiwork. This position created an opportunity to participate in the annual Parade of Homes, where he showcased many pieces of furniture.

In his spare time, he enjoyed assembling his John Deere Lego trucks and piecing together puzzles. In addition to the local dining travels, Larry and Debra would share additional travels to places such as the Amish Country and their favorite, the Smokey Mountains. You would also find Larry attending the Fulton County Fair every year. He looked forward to watching tractor pulls and attending the National Threshers reunion.

Larry devoted much of his time to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They each had their own unique bond and experiences but overall, he found great peace of mind in receiving updates on the progression of their lives.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Fink; children, Rick (Angie) Fink, Tammy (Dave) Berger, Jeff (Vanessa) Fink, and Vanessa (John) Fowler; grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Coury, Amanda (Brittonie) Fink, Shelby (Danny) Kelly, Mike Berger, Tim (Katie) Berger, Corey (Uthpala) Fink, Kristen Fink, Savannah (Artez) Stuckey, London Stahl, Jake Nadeau, John Fowler III, and Eden Fowler; great grandchildren, Ava Coury, Lily Kelly and Wyatt Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn (Dorothy) Fink.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at Springfield Township Hall, 7617 Angola Rd, Holland, OH 43528 on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. No formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
