LaRae
Taylor
Jun 11, 1960 — Jul 1, 2026
LaRae Lynne Taylor, age 66, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 11, 1960, in Oregon, Ohio to Edward George Taylor and Betty Louise Taylor.
LaRae said it like it was. She was fierce when she needed to be, loyal and compassionate underneath it. Everything she had went to her family, and she showed her love by feeding you and by telling you the truth. She faced many challenges and met them with strength. It never hardened her toward the people she loved. You would find her at the stove cooking for whoever was home, or in her chair with the phone to her ear as her coffee grew cold and she poured herself into one of her people. When you came to her for advice, she gave it to you straight – whether or not you wanted to hear it. She could see the water you were treading before you saw it yourself, and she was almost always right. For many years, she enjoyed vacation with her family in Emerald Isle, the coast she loved her whole life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, John Taylor; her children, Brandon (Kristine) Schmidt, John (Kristina) Taylor, Tamara Taylor, Kyle (Megan) Taylor, and Justin (Samantha) Taylor; her twelve beloved grandchildren; her mother, Betty Taylor; her siblings, Deborah (Domoni) Goings, Keith (Joy) Taylor, and Renee (Richard) Stoldt; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held on August 28, 2026, at Macomber Lodge in Oregon, Ohio.
The family welcomes flowers and cards in her memory.
She always said that one day she would go with her dad to build the beach house for us. She was strong every day of her life, and she was strong on the last one. Now she has gone to build it.
