Bowling Green - Kristin “Kris” Joan Hilton, 77, of Bowling Green, Ohio at 5:55 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024, passed away. Kris was being visited and surrounded by her family members at the loving Heritage Corner Health Campus in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she found happiness until her final days.
She was born May 21st, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to the late Fillmore and Leola Josephine (Christ) Hilton.
She is survived by her brother John Hilton of Florida, sister Jane Elizabeth (Brent) Cole of Georgia, and Kenneth Turner “former spouse” of Colorado.
Her 4 daughters: Heather (Alan Herrera) Turner of Colorado, Brooke T. (Robert) Solis of Ohio, and Danielle J. Turner of Colorado; She was blessed to be connected to her first daughter Lisa later in life. Her 4 grandchildren: Alan Herrera II, Andrew Solis, Brycen Lacey, Zachary Lacey; 8 great grandchildren: Hailey Herrera, Greyson Herrera, Jaxson Solis, Ayydon Lacey, Kai Lacey, Lelani Lacey, Xander Lacey, Malik Lacey; Nieces: Nichole (Jane) Kinghorn, Ashley (Jane) Fricks.
Kristin later in life would meet Brian, her lifelong companion, best friend, and partner in crime. Kristin latest description of Brian in her words, he is my “bestest, bestest friend, who is my truest companion in this world, and I love so much”. Kristin shared a special relationship with her siblings whether it was exchanging novels or getting the kickoff time for her favorite football teams from her sister or listening to stories over the phone from her brother’s perspective.
She loved Christmas, which her late father was known for creating magical moments during her childhood. She loved watching Christmas movies or watching old westerns, listening to 60’s music, and watching football religiously. Her favorite pastimes at the Heritage Corner were playing cards at the activity room with the ladies, bingo night, casino trips, ice cream trips, sightseeing trips, late night hang-out visits with her great friend Sue and nourishing her soul with too much chocolate.
She deeply cherished time at the beach, whether soaking in the water or putting her feet under the sand, it was her happy place. She looked forward to her weekly bible studies with her church family, whom she adored and held close to her heart. Kris’s relationship with the Lord Jesus was very important to her happiness and healing.
Kris had a strong work ethic no matter what the job was from factory work to service industry. She worked at places like Ball Metal and waitressing in Findlay, to nail tech or Time Share sales in Florida.
Kris is remembered for staying positive in any situation and finding ways to inject humor leading to laughs during tough times so the people around her felt at ease. She offered her ear to anyone and listened without judgement. But most of all, Kris was a good Mom who loved her daughters so very-very much.
