Kimberly J. Estes

Kimberly J. Estes, age 51, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away early Monday morning on January 10, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Kim was born September 16, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio to Gary and Mary (Champion) Estes. Kim graduated from Swanton High School in 1988, before going onto PSI: Professional Skills Institute, for medical assistant. Kim held many jobs; for the last 14 years, Kim worked for Bennett management at the Burger King on Airport Highway, where she was general manager for the last several years. Kim often hired Springfield High School students. She was more than a boss to a lot of the students, she was a mentor. Kim would help in any way she could, from giving advice to writing reference letters to colleges or other potential employers. However Kim’s best and favorite job was being a mom to Olivia ("O" as she is called). Most everything Kim did was for Olivia, from volunteering with Holland Parent council, Girl Scouts or keeping score book for rec league softball and later driving all over for travel softball tournaments. Anyone who knew Kim knows she didn’t like driving out of her comfort area but she did for O. Kim is survived by her daughter, Olivia Rompf; mother, Mary Estes; brothers, Shane (Amy) Estes, Gary Estes II; and her aunt, Beverly Schmitz. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Gary Estes and Olivia’s father, Timothy Rompf. Visitation will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 am. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 620 Dodge Street, Swanton, OH 43558. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice or directly to the family.
