Kenneth Lee Kelly, age 76, passed away suddenly, surrounded by family, on September 16th, 2025. He was born in Pontiac, MI, on July 8th, 1949, to Edgar and Vera (Adams) Kelly. Ken graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1967 and spent most of his youth in Bedford Township, Michigan, where he later served as a volunteer fireman with the Temperance Fire Department.
Ken spent many years working in concrete and excavation, primarily with Douglas Curry Excavating/CNC Concrete. He also worked as a skilled millwright at Teledyne Continental Motors. A hardworking man who retired in 2012, Ken never lost his zest for life. He was a man of many hobbies—golfing, hunting, fishing, playing poker, and relaxing on the beach were among his favorites. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, he was always the jokester in the room, bringing laughter wherever he went.
Above all, Ken was a devoted brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Of all his roles, the one he cherished most was being known as “Papa.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Becky; daughter, Kimberly Kelly (Cliff Brown); son, Bradley (Kerry) Kelly; grandson, Zachary Brown; granddaughters, Amber (Joe) Shepherd, Amanda Kelly (Michael Garno) and Allysa Kelly. He is also survived by his sisters, Korene Kelly, Karen Ryan, and Kristine (Roy) De Shano, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Kelly; and sister, Patricia Kelly. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital Neurological ICU. Their caring and kindness helped us all through this very difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25th, at Charlie Mops Restaurant, 8505 Secor Rd, Lambertville, MI 48144 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
