Kenneth Edward Brandt

Kenneth Edward Brandt, 72, passed on peacefully into eternal sleep in the early morning of October 15, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio with his loving wife and daughters at his side. Ken was born on August 18, 1945 to Mary Jane and Joseph Brandt. A graduate of Macomber-Whitney High School, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country from 1964-1967. Ken and Jean were married on November 6, 1970. Most of his working life was as a respiratory therapist beginning at The Medical College of Ohio and working also at St. Vincents Hospital, Flower Hospital, and ultimately retiring from Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Backstrom. He leaves behind his wife, Jean; daughters, Deborah Elliott (Erik Frazier), Angela (Andrew) Laker, and Christina (Kristopher) Merritt. He was an awesome grandpa to Tessa, Emma, Noah, and Evan Elliott; Zachary, Andrew, and Sydney Laker; and Peytin and Taylor Hill. He will also be missed by son-in-law, James Elliott and furry four-legged friend, Archer. Services will be private. Donations to Hospice NWO or a charity of choice in lieu of flowers is suggested.
