Kay Lorraine Simpson

February 8, 1948 — May 8, 2026

Kay Lorraine Simpson of Smiths Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, May 8th, 2026 in Toledo, OH. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her strong spirit, and the way she quietly cared for those around her.

Kay was born to Donald and Inez Simpson on February 8th, 1948. She was a high school graduate who spent time working for Northern Telecom Phone Company. She loved cooking and serving others, and naturally came to life. She found joy in preparing meals and bringing people together.

She found happiness in simple pleasures - bowling, spending time with her animals (especially dogs), and sharing moments with family. Not to mention, she loved to shop! She was in her glory shopping.

Kay was a second runner up in a beauty contest in 1966, which she was very proud of.

In the early years, Kay moved on to get her real estate license, as she loved to mingle with people, this was a perfect fit for her. She raised her 5 children being a real estate agent.

Kay furthered her education in the medical field with an Associate's Degree in medical transcription in Colorado.

Later in life, Kay moved on to further her education with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Carolina. She was committed to finishing her goals.

She had a deep enduring love for her animals and warm climates as she spent many years in Clarksville, Tennessee and Havelock, North Carolina where she spent most of her time with family members. She also had a passion for the Great Lakes of Michigan. She would always travel the water ways to view its beauty.
