June Ellen Mccarty-Duncan

June Ellen McCarty-Duncan passed away surrounded by loved ones in her daughter’s home on Monday, January 23.

She was born on August 11, 1943 in Valdosta, Georgia to Gerald and Elizabeth McCarty, on an Air Force Base where her father was stationed.

She was a nurse aide for 35 plus years. She loved her baseball and she loved talking baseball with her late son-in-law, Larry. She always was active and on the go until declining health slowed her down. We could always count on Mom to call us and give us weather updates. She was always asking about her grandchildren and what they were up to.

She is survived by her best friend Felicia Palmer; daughters, Robin Raitz and Julia Vasquez; son, Robert (Grace) Duncan; grandchildren, Michael, Christoper, Stephanie (Blake) Edington, Ella June (her name sake) and Lily; great grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Lily, Olivia, and Zoey; sister, Janet Sayers; brother, Gerald McCarty; nephews Matt and Jeff Sayers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Gerald McCarty; sister, Karen McCarty; daughter Cynthia Duncan; brother-in-law Tom Sayers; nephew, Michael Sayers,and son-in-law, Larry Raitz.
