June Cartwright

June Cartwright, 86, passed away December 3, 2008 in Toledo at the home of her daughter, Patsy. She was born in Michigan to the late Ruth and Don Emerson in June of 1922. Losing her mother at an early age, she was raised by relatives, finally ending up in Mishawaka, Indiana. There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack Cartwright. He was then shipped off by the Navy in World War II. After his return they raised two daughters, Patricia Garver of Toledo and Susan (Fred) Cohen of Sylvania.Junie enjoyed working. Her most loved position was working for the Ruth Reynolds Shop during the 60s and 70s. After the girls were raised, she and Jack moved to the Clearwater, Florida area. While in Florida, she was active in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Dunedin, Florida. As an avid golfer she was a member of Heather Downs and Brandywine country clubs. Jack passed away in 1999 and June prided herself in living independently until the age of 86. Just three months ago, due to illness, she moved in with her daughter Patsy. Being extremely proud of her Scottish heritage, she was known to have a “wee touch o the dew” upon occasion. She left many friends in Florida along with her 94 year old fiance, Wes Pullman.June is survived by her two loving daughters, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 310 Elizabeth Street, Maumee, Ohio on December 27th at 1:00pm. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. Arrangements were entrusted to the Cremation Society of Toledo. Online condolences may be made below.
