Julia Settlemire

Julia Rose Settlemire, 93, formerly of Lima, died at 12:30 p.m. Jan.8, 2013, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.She was born on Jan.27, 1919, in Lima to William and Mary Lyons. She was married to Rex Settlemire who preceded her in death in 1975. Mrs. Settlemire graduated from Central High School and Kent State University. She was a retired elementary school teacher. She taught 1st and 2nd grades at Horace Mann Elementary in Lima for 16 years. She also worked at the YMCA for 13 years as a pool clerk. She was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima.She is survived by her daughter, Jane Barton, of Bowling Green, Ohio; her step-daughter, Sue Bodoh of Westerville, Ohio; and her step-son, Robert Settlemire of Port St. Lucie, Florida.She was preceded in death by a brother, William (Billy) Lyons, a sister, Loretta McMullen and a son-in-law, Richard (Dick) McMullen.A prayer service and burial of her remains will be held at Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima, at a later date.
