Judy K. (Mominee) Disbennett, age 87, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away quietly at home on January 23, 2026.
She was born to Sylvester and Gertrude (Johnson) Mominee, in 1938 in Williston, Ohio. She attended Genoa High School, graduating in 1956. Judy worked briefly as a laboratory technician at St. Charles Hospital, until she married Charles “Bill” William Disbennett, in 1959 in Oregon, Ohio. They raised three children together in Jerusalem Twp. until Bill’s untimely passing in 1981. After Bill’s death, Judy obtained her LPN certificate and worked at the Lutheran Old Folks Home, then the Luther Home of Mercy, until her retirement.
Judy was happiest riding her lawn mower and working in her garden. She would help anyone who needed it, be it a shoulder to cry on, valuable advice, or even a temporary home. She loved hosting parties, from hog roasts to weddings, if you snagged an invitation, you knew you were in for a good time.
Judy is survived by her children, Jennifer (Rick) Logan, Charles Disbennett, David (Jennifer) Disbennett; grandchildren, Kenneth (Emily) Disbennett of Seattle, Wa, Theodore Disbennett, Andrew Logan, Emily Logan, and Sam (Alison) Logan; 3 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dennis (Donna) Mominee, and Jay (Katherine) Mominee. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, David Disbennett, Jr; sisters, Jeanne Dechovitz and Janet Lagouranis; brother, David Mominee.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Suzy Sevro, for all that she has done for our mother over the past two years. Her support has been invaluable.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held for friends and family this summer.
Memorials may be made to Nature’s Nursery (https://natures-nursery.org/donate/) or the Toledo Humane Society (https://toledohumane.org/give).
