Judith "Judy" Coutcher

March 7, 1945 — August 10, 2025

Judith "Judy" Ann (Miller) Coutcher, “Aunt JuJu, Grandma JuJu, Gram, Grammy”, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on August 10, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 7, 1945, to Fredrick and Orpha Miller. Judy lived a life full of faith and devotion to Jesus Christ, her church, her family, and her friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Susan (Miller) Jackson. Judy married Kenneth Coutcher in 1964, and together they shared three beautiful children, Cynthia Coutcher (Holding), Wendy Coutcher (Winters), and Matthew Coutcher.


She is survived by her loving brother, Thomas (Cheryl) Miller, and children, Cynthia (Steven) Holding, Wendy (Ronald) Winters, and Matthew (Christy) Coutcher. Judy cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family included eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart. Grandchildren, Luke (Kayla) Holding, Allison (Chad) Debo, Whitney (Zachary) Robinson, Joseph Holding, Daniel (Kourtney) Winters, Hunter (Bethany) Winters, Brady Coutcher, and Ashlyn Coutcher; great-grandchildren, Henry Holding, Drew Debo, Brock Debo, and Judah Winters.


A proud graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Class of 1963, where Judy created and maintained several close friendships with her classmates that remained throughout the entirety of her life. Many of whom she would call family. She went on to attend Madire Beauty Academy. Judy spent many years as a homemaker, lovingly caring for her children. Later in life, she worked as a dedicated nanny, activities director for nursing homes, and provided in-home healthcare for the elderly.


Judy’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She found joy and strength in her relationship with Him, inspiring those around her with her kindness, grace, and gentle spirit. She led a bible study and women’s prayer ministry until her final days. She was deeply involved in her family’s lives and built a special network of friends. Judy made friends everywhere she went—at church, among local merchants, and in her neighborhood—turning acquaintances into companions. She will be deeply missed.


Judy was known for her timeless elegance. She always looked effortlessly put together, with her hair perfectly styled, her makeup flawless and radiant, and her signature statement earrings, adding just the right touch of sparkle. She often wore black, her favorite color, which highlighted her sophistication and poise. Judy will be remembered for her exquisite taste in gift giving. She loved to give thoughtful gifts and spent hours picking out the perfect card for everyone, which is something each family member and friend will always remember about her.


Gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at New Life Church in Petersburg, Michigan, on Thursday, August 28th. Her funeral service will be held at New Life Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, with a luncheon to follow.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to New Life Church in Petersburg or the Toledo Humane Society. Everyone who knew Judy was aware of her love for cats. She had many special furry friends throughout her life and devoted herself to caring for them with tenderness and affection.


The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Northwest Hospice of Ohio, who provided exceptional care, kindness, and support during Judy’s final days.
