We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joy Dieter, who left us on October 25, 2025. Born on May 31, 1967, Joy lived a full and radiant life, one truly defined by love, laughter, and the happiness she brought to others—just as her name promised.
Joy leaves behind a beautiful family she cherished above all else: her devoted husband, Christopher Dieter; her beloved children, Megan Lindsey, Joshua Lajiness, and Alexander Dieter; her caring son-in-law, Ryan Lindsey; and her loving daughters-in-law, Sarah Lajiness and Trinity Dieter. She is also fondly remembered by her stepchildren, Joshua Wittkamp, Brandon Dieter and Makayla Harbert.
A proud “Mimi,” Joy’s heart overflowed with affection for her precious grandchildren—Harrison and Vienna Lindsey, Lincoln and Lani Lajiness, and Atlas and Aurora Dieter. She also leaves behind her dear brothers, Mark (Kathie) and Scott (Jennifer) Dusseau. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Arlen and Beverly Dusseau.
An embodiment of her name, Joy lit up every room she entered. Her warmth and kindness were magnetic—meeting her once meant remembering her forever. She loved camping, crafting, and most of all, sharing moments with her grandchildren. Her idea of a perfect getaway was relaxing on a beach with a daiquiri in hand, surrounded by the people she loved.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on November 1, 2025, from 1PM-6PM, at Dusseau’s Reception Center 12200 Lewis Avenue in Temperance, MI 48182.
Joy’s passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will live on in the love she gave so freely and the joy she spread so effortlessly.
Her life was one of warmth, compassion, and grace—a life well-lived, and a name that suited her perfectly. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Memorial Donations are suggested to the Susan G. Koman Foundation.
Flowers can be sent to 7321 N Lewis Ave Temperance MI 48182 or Dusseau’s Reception Center (on November 1st).
