Joseph Francis Spychalski

Joseph Francis Spychalski, age 53, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at his home in Maumee, Ohio. He was born to the late Ralph Francis and Betty Lou (Billheimer) Spychalski, on July 13, 1971, in Toledo, Ohio.

Joseph grew up in Toledo and attended Rogers High School. In 1988, he started a career working for Carefree Irrigation.

Joey was a die-hard football fan. He could recite stats from games past and present. Joey and one of his dearest friends Danny, made it to Minnesota to watch their favorite team, The Vikings, play. He was a football fanatic. He also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, and he tried to never miss any games.

You could also find Joey at rock and roll concerts, usually in the middle of the mosh pits. Kiss was one of his favorite bands. The heavier and louder, the better. He was in his element at shows.

He loved his friends and family with his huge heart, and naturally, that love was reciprocated. Some of the best family memories involve him playing horseshoes and cornhole, eating great food, drinking bud light and was always the life of the party. Joey was kind, funny, loyal, and was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Joey is survived by his siblings, Teri (Roy) Koschalk, Cindy Miners, Cathy (Terry) Peterson, Mike Spychalski, Ralph Spychalski, Eric (Donna) Spychalski, John Spychalski, Donna (David) Przeslawski, and Lisa (Jeff) Gensler, his extended family, Dan, Kim, and Danny Carothers. He had many nieces, nephews, and friends that were dearly loved along with his special friend Dawn Tubbs. His beloved cat Isabella brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Patrick Spychalski.

A Celebration of Joey’s Life will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the 14th Ward Old Time Ball Players Club, 2388 Airport Highway Toledo Ohio 43609. Joey will be inurned with his brother Pat at a private family ceremony at Toledo Memorial Park.
