Jon Rene LaPalme, Age 53 of Monroe MI, formerly of Dearborn Heights, MI; July 22, 2026. A gentle giant who would drop everything to help someone in need. Jon was a tradesman who could fix anything, working in Steel Mills, Auto and Parts Plants, Warehouses and Outdoors as a Contractor.
Survived by his beloved wife Tracey, four children, Jon (Camelia), JT, Brooklyn, Kash, a grand-daughter, Dianna, Mother, Christina, Siblings Wes, Jennie (Dan) Wades, two stepsons, Dustin, Joe (Alexis) Cavins and little Enzo. Loved by Aunts, Uncle, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Preceded in death by his beloved Father, Wesley LaPalme and Grandparents.
Jon grew up in Dearborn Heights, Crestwood High School Class of 1992. He was an all-around athlete playing football, basketball, wrestling and took to the CHS Blue and Gold colors to become a number #1 UofM Wolverines Football fan. He enjoyed fun and loved wearing his “Friends don’t let friends be STATE fans” around family and friends who root for MSU.
Jon followed in his Dad’s footsteps becoming an expert fisherman, pool shark and bowler. His favorite past time was fishing in his happy places Fletcher’s Pond in Hillman and Newport Mi.
Jon’s most important role in life was as a loving Husband, Father, Son and Brother. Jon faced cancer with grace and dignity as a true hero. His top priority was the well-being of his wife and young children. Jon was a faithful servant who was well loved and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Well done, Jon!!! Go Blue!!!!
A Celebration of Jon’s Life with prayers and community will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, 2:00 PM – 6 PM, 5303 N. Dixie Hwy, Newport, MI 48166.
