John Joseph Torda

John J. Torda answered the final call which no one disobeys, the call of our Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 12:52pm at the age of 57. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 1, 1951 to the late George and Ann (Liptak) Torda. John was a member of the North Toledo Arrow Club and former member of the V.F.W. post 4906. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and camper, and at one time, and all around sportsman. John last worked for Continental Secret Service Bureau. He was a man with a big heart who would do most anything for anyone. He fully enjoyed life and the companionship of his dogs. John is survived by his sisters, Betty, Georgia, and Mary (Gordon) Mather; brother, George “Chris”; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ann R. Torda and nieces, Karen Ellis and Melissa Mather. Memorials may be made in Johns name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Services for John will be private. The family has entrusted the Cremation Society of Toledo with Johns care. Online condolences may be made below.
