John T. Tincher

John Timothy Tincher, 78, of Toledo Ohio passed away peacefully August 3rd, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on October 5 1946, to Hallie and Margaret Tincher. John attended Rosary Cathedral grade school, graduated from Central Catholic High school and finished his education with a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Toledo. John spent the majority of his career as a principal and ending his career in the Toledo Public system working over 50 years. John actually retired a multitude of times but would always then return to what he truly loved and was meant to do.

To know John was to love him. He was extremely selfless, always putting others before himself, the first to give advice, (sometimes even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear), or lend a helping hand. His presence was always known due to his unwavering ability to light up a room. He never met a stranger and his loyalty was never questioned. Above all he was the best dad anyone could ask for. His girls never questioned his love for them and he made sure they had every opportunity possible. He was their first go to and they always knew he would be there. He wasn't just my dad, he was my best friend. Another great accomplishment was being the best grandpa making sure any void in his grandchildren's lives were filled and they never went without. There are absolutely no words to express how truly missed my dad will be, not just by me but by many friends and family. Not sure how I will navigate this life without him but can only hope that my legacy will be half of what his was.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Tincher; his parents, Hallie and Margaret Tincher; brothers Hugh, Leonard and Daniel; sisters, Agnes, Peggy and Mary Ann. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan (Perry); grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Madalynn, and Colson; former wife, Janice Tincher, and numerous other family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to join us in the celebration of life, with visitation on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 from 10 am until the time of Mass at 11 am at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo, Ohio 43610.
