John Edward Pahl 69, of Curtice, Oh. formerly of Findlay, passed away on June 30, 2014 at his home on Lake Erie. “He was born March 23, 1945 to””Edward (Eddie) F. and Golda M. (Oman) Pahl. Loving Father of Ronald E.(Gwen) Pahl, Barbra E.(Steve) Butler, Karen E. (Ryan) “Bishop and Jason E. Pahl. Proud Grandfather of Katie Anne Bartchlett, Sarah (Jeff) Combs, Kevin and KaeLah Bishop, Gavin, Malachi, Chloe and Gabe Pahl, and Great Grandfather of “Evan Allen Spitler and Zane Combs. Step grandfather of 6, and step great grandfather of 8. John is also survived by his loving partner, Cherie L. Urban-Nonnemacher and her sons, Andy(Jennifer) Sievert and Joe (Lisa) Sievert, and their children. ” He was previously married and divorced from Anne Long, Mary Carroccio and Kathy Theis. “He was predeceased by his parents and brother Larry Joe Pahl, and survived by brother Ray Pahl. John graduated in 1963 from Findlay HS, “Employed by “Whirlpool, Findlay as an Industrial Electrician for 26 years and the Findlay Police Dept. for 11 yrs. He was a proud US Army Airborne Vietnam Veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne and 131st Assault Helicopter of the 1st. Cavalry Air Mobile as a door gunner, earning the Combat Infantry Badge and 8 awards of the Air Medal. As an avid boater and motorcycle enthusiast, he was a past member of the Blue Knights LE Motorcycle Club, member of Harbor View Yacht Club,and Life member of the American Legion, VFW and Amvets of Findlay. It was Johns wish for no funeral service or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Amvets, Trenton Ave, Findlay on Monday, July 7th “from 6-8 p.m. “A private internment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay at a later date. “Memorials may be made to the Flag City Honor Flight PO Box 885 Findlay, Oh. 45839.
