John Kyles Jr. was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 25, 1947, to parents John Kyles Sr. and Louise Hamilton. Sadly, he fell asleep in death December 8, 2023.
John completed his education at Macomber High School before joining the Army. During his service, he had the opportunity to travel to various countries overseas. After leaving the Army, John dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 28, 1970. He was a member of The West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
John worked as a millwright at Libby Glass for many years before retiring. It was at this job where he met his future wife, Lana Marie Chatman. John and Marie were married for twenty-nine years before Marie died on December 6, 2005. Together, they had three sons: Kevin, Jayvis and Jonathan.
John had an innate love for working with his hands. Whether it was fixing something around the house, or completing a DIY project, he preferred to do it himself. He would purchase the necessary tools and get to work. John took pride in his lawn, and wouldn’t let anyone else cut it until his final months. He was always willing to assist his loved ones, doing what he could to help.
John Kyles, a beloved husband and father, was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings Charles Campbell and Diane Smith. However, his memory lives on through his three sons, Kevin (Courtney) Kyles, Javyis Kyles, and Jonathan Kyles, as well as his two grandchildren Keenan Kyles and Alaina Kyles. John is also survived by his three brothers, Tony (Rachel) Kyles, Marcus Hamilton, and Cotrell Hamilton. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his family, John had a close-knit group of friends who were like family to him. Betty Davis was one of these dear friends who regularly checked in on him to offer encouragement and support. Yvonne Hopson was another cherished friend who often prepared meals for him. Finally, John's sister-in-law Theodosia Hargrove provided transportation to and from doctor’s appointments. Thank you.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the prayers, kind words, and support provided to John during his illness, and to us during our time of mourning. We thank our God, Jehovah, for you dear friends.
