John Randall Klempner, age 63, went home to be with His Lord and Saviour on Monday, August 7, 2023 at St. Vincent's Hospital under the care of the medical staff in the I.C.U. after a long illness. John was born on October 1, 1959 in Oregon, Ohio to John Lester and Hazel Marie (Hensley) Klempner.
He married Ruth Anne Weber on February 9, 1981. John graduated from Toledo Waite High School in 1977. He attended Centralia College in Centralia, Washington where he studied Forestry Science. He planted evergreen trees, worked in restaurant management, tow truck driver, paper delivery driver, Schwan's delivery, and the last few years he worked for Lucas County Housing Authority.
He was an avid baseball fan and played a short time with a minor league team out of Florida. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, and his visits to Cedar Point Amusement Park. He loved the Seattle Seahawks and was a season ticket holder of the UT Rockets. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Angola, IN where he made some of his dearest friends. He loved collecting every version of the Bible he could find. He was a gentle soul with a great sense of humor. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife Ruth, Anne; children, step daughter, Julia Hagans (Joe), son, Johnathan Klempner, daughter, Joanna Klempner, son, Justin (Ashlee) Klempner, and daughter, Roxana (Luke) Barney; eight grandchildren; sister, Linda Warner; brother, Philip Klempner, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Klempner; brothers, Ron Watson, Ron Klempner, Jerry Watson, and sister Barbara Watson.
Celebration of Life Services to be held at Soma City Church, 4621 Glendale Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43614 on September 9, 2023 at 11:00 am with fellowship and luncheon following.
