John Forrest Fellhauer

April 25, 1939 — August 23, 2018

John Forrest Fellhauer, beloved husband, father and brother, left this world to be with Jesus on August 23, 2018. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jean, and his most beloved children, Amanda (Caleb), Renee (Joe), Johnny (Ting) and Mark (Maria), along with his stepchildren Rick (Brenda) Griffith, Scott (Jennifer) Griffith, and Christina (Clay) Blakeley. He also leaves behind his sister, Christine (Stan) Surratt and brother Tom Fellhauer, whom he loved very much. Also missing him will be his grandchildren Dana and Sara Fellhauer, Kyle, Gage and Emma Blakeley, McKenzie and Logan Griffith and Mikayla and Caroline (Griffith) Misura, as well as his great granddaughter, Camber, and a soon-to-be great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sara. John taught Spanish at Clay High School for 42 years, after which he worked as a substitute teach for another 8 years in many of the area school systems, finally retiring in 2010. He loved making dulcimers, gardening, and canning, as all who received his salsa can attest to! He was an avid reader, and loved history, politics and guns. John and his wife shared 22 wonderful years together, and he will be missed beyond measure. There will be a private service for family on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Afterwards, there will be a gathering at 12:00 p.m. at Oak Bend Church, 11275 Eckel Junction Road, Perrysburg, Ohio for all friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John’s memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Oak Bend Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at toledocremation.com
