John M. Bush, a retired general inspector and corrections officer for the City of Toledo, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, March 21st of complications from diabetes. John, 67, was a Toledo native and attended DeVilbiss High School and the University of Toledo. He was also a veteran of the US Navy and served on active duty. John met his wife Jeanne while they both worked at the former Toledo House of Correction and they liked to tell acquaintances they “met in jail.” While retired, John taught himself to build and repair computers and was in the process of building an HO train set for his special grandson, Nate. John is survived by his wife, Jeanne M. (Gringrich); son, Michael D. Bush (fiancee Jourdan); daughter, Lara Croteau; stepson, Ben Feeny (Laura). he is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Nathan, and Aryal; brother, Daniel D. Bush (Brenda); and brother-in-law, Jesse Gingrich (Jenny). His best friend, Dan, and special niece, Nae, also survive him. he was preceded in death by his mother and father. There will be no immediate service or visitation. Special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
