John A. Bopery

John Bopery, age 78, of Sylvania, OH passed away March 16, 2026 peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on June 12, 1947, John lived his life devoted to the people he loved most.

He had the biggest heart and a gentle, caring spirit that touched everyone he met. John deeply loved his family and was so incredibly proud of them. They were his greatest joy and the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent together.

John found happiness in life's simple pleasures-especially fishing and cheering on Ohio State football. He was a loyal Buckeyes fan through and through, always ready to support his team. He was also a hardworking man who gave his all in everything he did, never asking for anything in return.

More than anything, John will be remembered for the way he made people feel - loved, supported, and never alone. He was compassionate, giving, and truly one of the good ones. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, and he will be deeply missed beyond words by all who knew and loved him.

John is now reunited with those who passed before him, including his beloved wife, Joyce; his son-in-law, Scott Gaynor; his parents, Betty and Allen; and his in-laws, Marjorie and Wilbur Wohlgamuth.

He is survived by his loving children, Chris (Heather) Bopery, Nicole (Brian) Bopery, and Jennifer Gaynor; and his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Brenden, Makenzie, Makayla, MaKinley and Brother Leroy (Debbie) Bopery.

A private family gathering will be held to honor John's life.
