John W. Bobash

John W. Bobash, age 73 of Toledo, passed away on August 31, 2021 at Heartland of Perrysburg under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. John was born on February 2, 1947 in Toledo, OH. He was a 1966 graduate of Rogers High School, where he ran the high hurdles in track and field and was an All-State Champion. After High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1967 to 1971 during Vietnam War. John joined with a friend, Kenny Henny, and later another friend, Larry Roe, who joined the U.S. Army. He retired from Libby Owens Ford in Rossford, OH as a glass cutter. One of John’s hobbies was his Hot Rods and his classic Corvette. He also enjoyed swimming, watching sports and the love of his dogs. John always liked visitors. He was always telling you about current events, sports, and everything he had an interest in. He always had a good story for you. John is survived by his children, Steven (Liz) Bobash and Todd (Tiffany) Bobash; grandchildren, Allison, Steven, Jacquelyn, Kaiden, Elec and Adalynn Bobash; step-grandson, Jeffrey Camp; former wife and caregiver, Judy (Graham-Bobash) Hanna; aunt and Godmother, Lillian Zacharias; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents, Stephen and Clara (Schuette) Bobash. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow at 12:00 pm. John’s family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Staff at Promedica-Heartland for their compassion and care. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to the Toledo Humane Society or Maumee United Methodist Church.
