Joan J. Hudson

Joan (known as 'Jo' by family) J. Hudson, age 88, died April 22, 2022 at Charter Senior Living at Oak Openings, in Sylvania, OH. Joan was born December 15, 1933 in Mitchell, SD to the late Rev. Herman H. Turner and Vera (Osborn) Turner. She was the seventh of ten siblings and is the last of that generation to rise into heaven. She was a spirited child (Joan and her younger brother Junior were daring, adventurous and a bit troublesome), a lively teenager and a warm- hearted adult.....always fun-loving (she'd often say about her children's escapades, 'Sounds like great fun to me!'). Quite often she explored new craft talents; she was an accomplished seamstress, quilt maker, basket weaver and crafter. Joan was a member of Westgate Chapel where she was active with Threads of Love and enjoyed cooking for, and being a part of, the Keenagers Group. She would often speak of both groups with love and will be remembered for her wonderful stories and delicious recipes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Oscar D. "Jack" Hudson and is survived by their children, Shana McKinney (Bruce), Findlay, OH, Oscar Dennis Hudson III (Sue), Willcox, AZ, Tami May (Greg), Maumee, OH and Scott Hudson (Barb), Sylvania, OH; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held, June 24, 2022 at 11 AM at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Rd, Toledo, OH 43615. Memorial donations in her name are suggested to Westgate Chapel.
