Jerry Lee Vermillion, 73 of Spencerville, passed away December 23, 2024, at Home. Jerry was born July 12, 1951, in Lima to Richard P. "Dick" and E. "Ruth" (Collins)Vermillion, who preceded him in death. His wife, Linda M. Vermillion, preceded him in death July 7, 2023.
Jerry was a graduate of Shawnee High School, he worked as a police officer in Fort Shawnee, becoming a Sergeant, then he transitioned into HVAC repair. He was a member of South Side Christian Church. He enjoyed camping, loved horses, going to Quarter Horse Congress, country music, truck/tractor pulls, watching bull riding, and home repair TV shows. He liked to read and do the crosswords in the newspaper. He loved his coffee! He spent a lot of time in the garage fixing something and could fix nearly anything.
Jerry is survived by his children, Alan (Brandy) Vermillion of Lincoln, NE, Christopher (Mary) Vermillion of Rougemont, NC, Philip (Heather) Vermillion of Lima, Wendy (Larry) Zak of Lancaster, NY and Natalie Vermillion of Lima; step-children, Kirby Donoho of Malvern, AR, Eliyah Donoho of Malvern, AR, and Samuel "Sam" Donoho of Malvern, AR; grandchildren, Steffani Weirauch, Philip Stemen, Justin Vermillion, Rachel Osborne, Hunter Vermillion, Haley Vermillion, Samantha Vermillion Bowles, Devante Vermillion-Young, Lauren Zak, Mykal Vermillion-Young, and Makai Vermillion-Young; 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Vermillion.
A private graveside gathering of the family will be at a later date.
