Jerrell Lee Clark

May 9, 1926 — August 11, 2011

Jerrell “Jerry” Lee Clark, 85, passed away August 11, 2011 ,at The Hospice of Northwest Ohio, after a long illness. Jerry was born May 9, 1926, to Mason and Bertha Clark in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in Okinawa. On October 25, 1949, Jerry married his soul mate Edna Mae Cumbo. They were married for 61 years and have three children: Joann (Paul) Swinkey, Connie (Jock) Denny, and Jerry. Jerry was employed for 30 years at Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company. He was also employed at Glass City Federal Credit Union for 12 years where the employees of the credit union became an important part of his family. In addition to his wife and children, at the time of his death he was surrounded by his extended family of Juanita and Marion Cox, “sister” Linda Woodworth, Sherrie, Warren, Jamee and J.T. Kerwin, Paula and Bill Gallagher, Ricky and Freeman Woodworth, Ron, Brenda, and Megan Fussell, Fred Kelly and his grandson Jerry. Jerry has 5 grandchildren: Timothy (Lori) Jones, John Reinbolt, Kaleigh Swinkey, Cole and Grant Denny and two great-grandchildren: Timothy and Raeleigh Jones. His very dear friends include: Jean and Bonnie Woodworth, Bob and Cindy Gatewood, Alice and Sam Horn, Joe and Delma Oviedo, Gary and Jill Fussell, George and Diane Jones, and Jim and Nedra Cole. Jerry never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. A special thank-you to all the remarkable staff at Promedica Bay Park Hospital and The Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialists, Dr. Karl Fernandes and Dean Bernardo who took such excellent care of him throughout the years. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Suzette Huenefeld and the staff at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, and his best friends, Dalton and Faye Fussell. Per Jerrys request, there will be no service at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Online condolences may be shared below:
