Jerome "Jerry" L. Rymers

July 2, 1952 — February 18, 2021

Jerry Rymers, 68, of Toledo, OH, passed away from heart failure on February 18, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He was the son of John R. and Elizabeth (Betty) M. Rymers, born in Toledo on July 2, 1952. Fraternal grandparents were Lowell and Helen Rymers. Maternal grandparents were Edward and Nancy (Anastasia) Garwacki. Jerry served in the Army for 2 years in Germany. He was employed at the Jeep Plant for over 20 years. Jerry’s lifelong passion was repairing and restoring cars, trucks and motorcycles with his “adopted father” Wally Durbin and going to the Toledo Speedway racetrack and the Daytona Beach, Florida racetrack. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rymers (Joseph) Pfeiffer; son, Christopher; siblings, Patricia (Joe Bohland) Trzaskowski, Richard (Jenny) Rymers, Linda (Jeff) Rymers Ruddock; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Rymers; and his sister, Kathleen “Kathy” Klein-Thomas. Jerry’s remains are buried at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
