Jeanette "Jan" Leonard

Jeanette “Jan” Leonard, 87, of Toledo, Ohio passed away in peace in Bloomington, Indiana on December 3, 2023.

Jan was born on August 17, 1936 to Russell and Edith (Knight) Laverty, and had playful childhood in Temperance, Michigan. She graduated from Whitney High School in Toledo before attending The University of Toledo while working and being a wonderful mother. Jan lived in several states before returning to the Toledo area and retiring from ProMedica Health System after many years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, giving them all their own special nicknames. Jan was an avid baker and made the best molasses cookies.

Along with her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her brothers; sister; sons, Arden Moyer Jr. and Thomas Moyer; and her granddaughter, Chelsea Beebe. She is survived by her loving children, Deborah (Fred) Olnhausen, George (Penny) Moyer, Deanne (Tracey) Beebe; and many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Jan wished to rest with her son at Erie Union Cemetery in Erie, Michigan. There will be a small graveside prayer service for loved ones at a later date.
