Jean Hartwell Low Mcbride

Jean Hartwell Low McBride 91, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022, at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg, in Perrysburg Ohio where she had been a resident for 2 ½ years. Prior to her move to Perrysburg, she lived in Boardman, Ohio for more than 50 years.

Jean was born June 2, 1931, in Brookline Massachusetts. She was the only child of the late Galen & Edith (Hartwell) Low. Jean graduated from Brookline High School in 1949 and continued on to Secretarial school in Boston. She met her husband David Lytle McBride III in Boston and they were married on October 10, 1959. David and Jean moved to Boardman, Ohio in 1962. Jean was a long time member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Youngstown, OH and Boston, MA. She served on the Board of Directors of the CASTLO Industrial Park in Struthers OH where she took the seat of her late husband in 1993 and served until 2019. She was also a huge Boston Red Sox fan and loved watching their games whenever she could.

Jean is survived by her three children, Richard (Sandy) McBride of Love’s Park, IL, Donald Stuart McBride of Greensboro, NC and Elizabeth (William) Reetz of Walbridge, OH; grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley & Eric McBride and 4 great-grandchildren.

Jean was predeceased by her husband David in 1993 and her parents.

Cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place in Bath, Maine, at a later date.
