Jean Gilbert

Jean passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by loved ones at St. Anne's Hospital on December 29, 2022. Jean was born to Vergil and Ruth Gilbert on May 4, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard, her sister Carol and great nephew Dominic and many other family and friends.

She worked for many years at People's Savings/Charter One bank in mortgage and escrow. Jean was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for many years and a proud graduate of Devilbiss High School. She was an active member at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards on Fridays and volunteering for their rummage sales.

Jean had a sweet smile, a tender heart of gold and so much love for her family.

Left to cherish her memory are nieces Cathy, Connie (Dennis), Cris (Joe), Sheron (Joe), Dawn (Geary), Pamela, Susan (Brooks), sister in law Joan, life long friend Grace, 13 great nieces and nephews, 7 great-great nieces and nephews and her cat Lucky. She was so excited to meet another great-great niece Layla in February.

Our family is hoping you will join us for a celebration of life and luncheon on February 4th at 1:00 pm at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center at 1315 Hillcrest, Toledo, OH. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center.
