Jasmine S. Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jasmine Simone Smith, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Jasmine brought light to everyone around her.

She is survived by her beloved mother, Tearessa Ann Smith and father, Jessie James Tucker; siblings, Monique, Michael and Thomas. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Most importantly, she was a proud and devoted mother. Jasmine dedicated her life to her four beautiful children, Jay’Rizion Smith, Jasmeona Baker, Ja’Niyha Baker, and Traveon Baker, Jr. who were her greatest joy and purpose. Jasmine was also blessed to have her grandmother, Lucy, as a guiding and supportive presence throughout her life. She was preceded in death by the father of her children and best friend, Traveon Baker, Sr.

A creative spirit with a passion for beauty, Jasmine’s love for “bling,” pink, and all things bright shone through in her work as a licensed cosmetologist and owner of her own aesthetician salon. Her clients, friends and community were touched by her warmth, kindness and exceptional talent.

Jasmine dreamed of being an entrepreneur. She completed a Business Development Discovery session with the Women of Toledo. She ensured her children were engaged in many activities that help build a positive mindset and well-being, including building 'A Seat at the Table' with the Girls Hub program and maintaining a 'Big Sister' mentor.

She was a proud graduate of the Mom’s House of Toledo program, a journey that empowered her to create a brighter future for herself and her children. Her Mom’s House family held a special place in her heart, and she often spoke of the love and encouragement she received there.

Her faith was central to her life, and Jasmine found joy and purpose as an active member of Compassion Toledo Church, where she served alongside her children. Her church community was a tremendous source of pride, and she was honored to serve and grow with them.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mom’s House of Toledo Emergency Fund to support the immediate needs of Jasmine’s children.

Jasmine’s legacy of love, kindness and resilience will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service celebrating Jasmine’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Compassion Toledo Church, 3327 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH 43609.
