Janine L. Demott

Janine DeMott, devoted mother, and loving grandmother, died peacefully May 7th, 2022 at the age of 62 at Toledo Hospital. Janine is survived by her children, Eric Whitney and Christopher Taylor; her grandchildren, Ethan Whitney, Wyatt Whitney and Selena Taylor; and her sister, Suzanne Overcashier. Janine has several nieces, nephews, and friends she cared for and loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert DeMott; her mother, Dorothy (Doe, Dottie) DeMott; and her sister, Jackie Geiger. Janine was born on July 14th, 1959 to her loving parents, Delbert, and Dorothy DeMott. Janine welcomed into this world her two sons, Eric Whitney and Christopher Taylor, who were her life and joy. She worked tirelessly to provide for them and she loved her sons more than anything in this world. Janine spent most of her last 25 years working at the UT Medical Center, or known previously as MCO, where she spent most of that time as a phone operator. Janine always tried to help as many people as she could, sometimes to her detriment, as many times she would go without herself but she never complained and she would not have had it any other way. Janine's life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church, located at 3934 W. Laskey Rd, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. to welcome guests, with services starting at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). Services will be officiated by Rev. Bradford E. Scott, Pastor. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the services for all guests. In lieu of any flower or plant gifts, please consider making a donation honoring Janine, to the Toledo Humane Society.
